The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) of the North Central Railway (NCR), Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh), announced the hiring of the post of ITI apprentices for the various divisions of the NCR. The number of vacancies that are needed to fill up is 1697. The online application window will remain open until today, that is December 14, midnight. Interested and qualified candidates may access the detailed announcement and submit an online application on the official website. The age bracket for the apprenticeship post is 14 to 24 years. Age will be calculated as on the last date of application, which is December 14. The names of the divisions and departments in which the recruitment of ITI Apprenticeship will be done in North Central Railway are Prayagraj Division – Mechanical and Electrical Department, Jhansi Division, Workshop Jhansi and Agra Division. The distribution of the 1697 vacancies are as follows:
Prayagraj-Mechanical Department – 368
Prayagraj-Electrical Department – 339
Jhansi Division – 528

For ITI or Trade Apprenticeship, one must have passed 10th and have done ITI in the relevant trade from an institute recognised by NCVT/SCVT. The maximum age limit will be relaxed by three years for candidates in the SC/ST category and five years for OBC candidates. Candidates who are differently-abled will have a ten-year age limit relaxation. Additionally, ex-servicemen will receive a ten-year relaxation.
One must pay an application fee of Rs 100, which will be accepted only through online modes. It will be non-refundable. The application will be free of cost for SC/ST/PWD and women candidates.
Candidates will be chosen based on merit, which will be determined by the proportion of marks earned in both the ITI and the 10th grade. The marks in these two will have a weightage of 50% each. The notification states that candidates would be shortlisted for document verification up to 1.5 times the number of openings.
