Did V and Jennie break up?

BTS' V and BLACKPINK's Jennie have reportedly broken up after a brief dating period.

V and Jennie who were rumoured to be dating for quite some time now have reportedly called it quits. The break up has happened just days before the BTS member’s military enlistment. According to a report from JTBC, the duo have decided to part ways.

Despite no official confirmation from their respective labels, Big Hit Music and YG Entertainment, the two idols have frequently been seen together, leading many fans and netizens to speculate about an alleged romance.

Last October, it was claimed that the BTS singer and the BLACKPINK member were spotted in Jiju Island by themselves. And in fact Jennie invited V and his friend group, including Park Seo Joon, Choi Woo Shik, and Park Hyung Sik, to the exclusive listening party for her second solo single “You & Me”. Morever, they were even captured holding hands in Paris.

Rumours of Jennie and BTS’ V dating first began in December 2021. The K-pop idols have been subjected to alleged leaked photos and hacks.

Last year in October, Jennie’s agency YG Entertainment had released a statement, saying that it would pursue legal action against those circulating private photos of Jennie. “We have refrained from mentioning the matter or making an official statement in order to minimize any further damage,” the agency said in its statement, per Korea JoongAng Daily. “However, there have been indiscriminate rumors, criticism, personal attacks, sexual harassment and violations of personal life sparked by those private photographs.”

BTS singer V’s agency HYBE had also issued a statement reacting to the dating rumours. The agency said they’ve filed ‘additional criminal complaints against postings with personal attacks and defamation.’ “We have found multiple defamation postings containing false information about the artists on platforms in and outside of Korea. We also have found that a specific poster has been spreading the same ill-intentioned rumour on multiple platforms and filed a criminal complaint against the poster after gathering all of the repetitively uploaded postings,” the agency added.

An official confirmation on the break up news is awaited.
