David Warner's wife Candice Warner explains how their daughter Indi suffered an injury while playing with her sister and friends

Australia cricketer David Warner had to deal with a traumatising period after his daughter Indi broke her arm on Monday. Warner’s wife Candice revealed on her radio show that Indi suffered the injury during a game of OzTag against her eldest sister Ivy. Candice said that the competition between the two sisters started on Saturday after Indi beat Ivy in a game of cricket.

“They are very competitive. Ivy takes her batting and cricket very seriously so Indi starts flicking the ball up and clean bowls her first ball. Monday is OzTag day so yesterday afternoon Indi’s team played up two age groups so she played against Ivy. Ivy takes the ball up and runs straight through people so Indi comes out and tries to get her sister’s tag but comes off second best and breaks her arm,” Candice explained on Triple M’s Summer Breakfast show.

Candice even recalled that her husband David was home then. Indi was rushed to the emergency room where doctors confirmed that she had broken her arm. “She got the X-ray and she is getting the cast on today,” the retired professional ironwoman said.

David Warner had a tremendous outing at the recently concluded World Cup held in India. Warner scored 535 runs at an average of 48.63 in 11 matches in the competition. His strike rate was also an impressive 108.29 at the World Cup. The southpaw clinched two centuries and as many half-centuries in the tournament.

Warner played a key role in Australia’s triumphant World Cup campaign. The Aussies got the better of hosts India in the final to lift the World Cup trophy for the sixth time.

The swashbuckling opener was recently named along with Usman Khawaja as the only openers in Australia’s first Test squad scheduled to take on Pakistan. Warner’s form in Test cricket has not been quite impressive and the 37-year-old has managed to score just one century since the early half of 2020. His average has also been 28 since the 2019-2020 season. The opening Test between Australia and Pakistan is scheduled to start from December 14 at the Optus Stadium in Perth.
