The celebration of Diwali becomes more vibrant when the power of self-sufficiency is harnessed effectively. Achieving this relies on possessing a resolute determination. Shuruat Ek Jyoti Shiksha Sansthan stands as a clear illustration of this principle. In this non-profit organization, 150 children receive an education without charge. When these youngsters sensed financial constraints for the institute, they proactively assumed control and responsibility for its operations. The organization is situated in Uttar Pradesh.
For the Diwali festival, an ex-civil aspirant makes sure that ten thousand candle lamps are sold from his institute. These will be sold in the market, and the proceeds generated to fund the ongoing education. Witnessing the children’s passion, Abhishek Shukla from Shuruat Ek Jyoti Shiksha Sansthan also enthusiastically joined and provided complete support for this project
Abhishek Shukla, a member of Jyoti Shiksha Sanstha, mentioned that initially, the children in their institution lacked a connection to education. The journey, which commenced with a one-hour class, has now led many children to pursue higher education. Some are pursuing B.Tech, and others are preparing for NEET. However, financial challenges pose hurdles to their progress. In response, they’ve embraced self-reliance. During Diwali, some are engaged in collecting clay kulhads, while others are occupied with melting wax and filling them.
Story of joining organisation
Driven by his dream of joining civil services, Abhishek Shukla initiated this organization with a motivational backstory. Witnessing a girl begging near a crossing, burdened with the responsibility of her brother and mother, he was inspired to take charge. Determined to educate children in slums facing similar circumstances, he, along with his sister, founded Jyoti Shiksha Sansthan six years ago. Today, the free education provided by the institute has proven beneficial, with many students now aspiring to become doctors, engineers, IAS, and PCS officers.
Hrithik and Deepak Kori form part of the team responsible for procuring goods from the market. Another team focuses on filling and applying wax to the pots. This team includes Laiva, Ruhi, Rajni, and Dheeraj. The pot-painting team comprises Aanchal, Khushboo, Nandani, Nihal, Rani, Khushboo, Jyoti, and Akanksha. Following this, the packing and selling responsibilities in the market lie with Khushboo Bano, Najo, and Komal. Sana takes on the role of leading and coordinating all these efforts.
