The makers of the 2019 satirical superhero television series The Boys are coming up with a spin-off show titled Gen V starring fresh faces.

Eric Kripke’s 2019 satirical superhero television series The Boys whipped up a massive response from viewers upon its inception. The Amazon Prime Video series revolves around a group of vigilantes who embark on a mission to take down corrupted superheroes, who are misusing their powers, creating trouble. Acknowledging the popularity of the show, the makers are once again bringing a spin-off series of The Boys, titled Gen V. Scheduled to release on September 29 on Amazon Prime Video, the trailer of the much-anticipated Gen V was unveiled recently, taking binge-watchers into a frenzied excitement. The upcoming web series also introduces fresh faces as the cast.

The trailer opens with the young superhero characters getting acquainted with the premises of a fictitious institution named Godolkin University, which is a “prestigious superhero-only college where students train to be the next generation of heroes—preferably with lucrative endorsements." In what appears to be a normal college at first, soon turns out to be a student’s worst nightmare. Initially, the pupils are seen engaging in a display of interesting superpowers and deciding on a superhero name for themselves. But, there is more than what meets the eye which becomes evident as the trailer progresses.

Things at Godolkin University seem to be “going wrong" as claimed by some of the students. There is also a mention of some mystical wood that they prefer to keep their distance from. There are also secrets waiting to be unveiled and also a hint of some “evil people" at the university, trying to harm others and hiding in plain sight. When things apparently seem to get out of hand, a group of young and morally correct students decide to take matters into their own hands and fight the malicious presence who is deemed to be “bigger" than them. The trailer promises plenty of action, scary visuals, and a hint of romance in between, making up for a nail-biting tale of adventure and drama.

Gen V stars a cast ensemble of Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Chance Perdomo, Shelley Conn, Jensen Ackles, Marco Pigossi, and Maddie Phillips among others, each playing significant roles. Some of The Boys cast including Clancy Brown, Jason Ritter, Jessie T Usher, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit, and PJ Byrne make cameo cameos in Gen V, reprising their characters, reports The Hollywood Reporter. Gen V is produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television in collaboration with Point Grey Pictures, Original Film, and Kripke Enterprises.
