Rinku Singh managed to put India back on track to post a decent total on the board in the second T20I between India and South Africa. The batter had to walk out in a high-pressure situation with the top-three batters departing early in the powerplay itself. But the pair of Rinku Singh and the skipper, Suryakumar Yadav managed to put in a decent partnership to take the game forward.
After the high-octane clash, Rinku Singh spoke about his time in the middle. He shared,” When I came in to bat we lost 2-3 wickets, it was tough then. When I was batting with Suryakumar Yadav, the talk was that to play your usual game.”

The skipper had given him motivation as Rinku looked to struggle initially to get going under pressure in the first innings. The batter revealed,” Surya told me to believe in yourself and as I said before, took some time at the start and was patient before getting the big shots in.”
Rinku went on to score his maiden international fifty against South Africa in the second T20I and a notable moment during his innings was when he smacked one for a maximum and the ball shattered the glass at the media box at the St George’s Oval.” I did not know that when I hit that for a six it had broken the glass so I am sorry for that,” said Rinku as he laughed.

Despite rain interfering with the match, South Africa had a massive task of chasing 152 in 15 overs under the DLS method but contributions from Reeza Hendricks who missed out on his fifty and skipper Aiden Markram’s 30 off 17 deliveries helped the home side get the win and a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20I series.
The Men in Blue will now travel to Johannesburg for the final T20I game as India will look to bounce back with a win and level the series.
