5 Upcoming Indian Space Missions in 2024

After the success of the Chandrayaan 3 mission and the launch of India’s first solar observation mission Aditya L1, here are five upcoming Indian space missions in 2024.

INSAT 3DS

It is a part of the Indian National Satellite System (INSAT) series developed by ISRO. It aims to monitor and gain more knowledge about weather systems and crucial meteorological forecasts.

Gaganyaan 1

Under the Gaganyaan mission, ISRO plans to send four astronauts into space for three days and bring them back safely.

NISAR

NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR) is a joint space project between NASA and ISRO. The two space agencies will launch a synthetic aperture radar satellite.

XPoSat

XPoSat (X-ray Polarimeter Satellite) is India’s first dedicated polarimetry mission to study various dynamics of bright astronomical X-ray sources in extreme conditions.

Venus Orbiter Mission

It is unofficially known as Shukrayaan-1. It will be ISRO’s first mission to Venus, which will involve a spacecraft to orbit Venus to study what lies below the surface of the hottest planet in the solar system.
