Team India were put to bat first by South African skipper Aden Markram, who won the toss and opted to field first.
The men in blue were off to a great start thanks to Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill as they raced to 29 runs in the first two overs before Gill was sent back to the pavilion by spinner Keshav Maharaj.
Tilak Verma was next to go as he fell for a duck in the very next delivery as Maharaj struck again.
Suryakumar and Jaiswal steadied the innings as they put up a 112-run stand before Jasiwal went back to the stands after being scalped by Tabriz Shamsi.
Rinku Singh added 14 runs off 10 deliveries before being dismissed by Nandre Burger.
Suryakumar brought up his ton in the final over of the innings before his dismissal, which was followed by Jitesh Sharma getting out through hit wicket in the very next ball.
Mohammed Siraj, who came out to replace Sharma picked up a double in the final delivery to take India’s total past the 200-run mark.
