South Africa won the toss and chose to field first in the third T20I against India at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on Thursday.
The coin toss swung in the direction of SA skipper Aiden Markram as he opted to bowl first against India, who have yet again been given the responsibility of setting a target.
Team India look to finish the three-match T20I series on a strong note as they seek to level the tour after having lost the second match of the series. While the opening game of the tour was washed out due to inclement climatic conditions in the African nation.
Suryakumar Yadav will look to come out with a positive result on his first overseas tour as the skipper of the men in blue following the thumping series win India registered over Australia in the T20I series at home following the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 defeat.
Suryakumar and rising star Rinku Singh registered half-tons in the second game of the series, however, their brilliant knocks went in vain as South Africa picked up a 5-wicket win thanks to the DLS method.
India put up 180 runs for the loss of 7 wickets before South Africa chased down the truncated total of 152 in 13.5 overs with 5 wickets and seven deliveries to spare.
