Having clinched a 1-0 lead in the T20I series against India hosts South Africa will now be aiming to carry forward the momentum in the final fixture on Thursday, December 14. The third and final T20I of the series is scheduled to be played at The Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.

Chasing a revised total of 152 in the second T20I, the Proteas scored the winning runs with seven balls to spare. South Africa opening batter Reeza Hendricks emerged as his side’s highest scorer in the penultimate fixture with 49. South Africa fast bowler Gerald Coetzee had picked up three wickets earlier in the second T20I.

India, on the other hand, will now desperately be looking for a victory to avoid a series defeat. Previously, the first T20I of the series had to be cancelled without even a ball being bowled.

It is expected to be breezy in the morning with periods of clouds and sunshine prevailing throughout the day in Johannesburg on Thursday, December 14. There is a 40 per cent probability of precipitation in the evening during the third T20I match between India and South Africa. The temperature could hover around 28 degrees Celsius to 15 degrees Celsius, while the humidity is anticipated to be around 71 per cent. The wind speed will be around 33 km/h during the 20-over clash.

Both batters and bowlers are expected to have a favourable outing at The Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. Stats suggest that teams chasing have had an advantage at this venue. The last T20I that took place in Johannesburg saw both teams posting 200-plus totals. Chasing a total of 221 against West Indies in that game, the Proteas fell short by seven runs.
