One of the recently released web series that is garnering positive reviews from the audience is the second season of Mumbai Diaries. The highly anticipated series was released on October 6 and seemingly, it has struck a deep chord with its viewers which it aimed to. Based on the 2005 Mumbai floods, the medical drama is directed by Nikkhil Advani. The director recently revealed the filming experience of the series and called it a “dangerous thing” and “full of adventure”.

Recalling the shooting experience of the series, director Nikkhil Advani revealed, “We had quite a shooting experience this season, it was surely a dangerous thing. The production design of the set had scaffolding everywhere, and one of the particular scenes involved Konkona being trapped in a room flooded with water. To ensure that she had something to hold onto, we literally strapped her to the scaffolding kept in the room. And while we were inside the room, shooting and filling it up with water, we didn’t realize the amount of pressure it was exerting on the walls.”

The director added, “We had to jump out of the set as the walls were beginning to give away. All in all, it was all cool and full of adventure, surely making it a fun shooting experience too.”

Produced by Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani under the banner of Emmay Entertainment, Mumbai Diaries Season 2 boasts an ensemble cast of Konkona Sen Sharma, Shreya Dhanwantary, Mohit Raina, Natasha Bharadwaj, Satyajeet Dubey, Tina Desai, Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Prakash Belawadi and Ridhi Dogra in the prominent roles.

The eight-episode series is a medical drama that revolves around the lives of the staff of the Bombay General Hospital who try everything in their might to treat patients while dealing with the floods affecting the city. The series is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Notably, the first season of the Mumbai Diaries was based on the 26/11 attacks that took place in the city. Given the immense love, the makers decided to make another season of the show with the same cast.
