Leopard Found Trapped in Net Laid for Monkeys, Andhra Forest Dept Rushes to Rescue

As per the locals, the leopard was seen hanging from the tree for more than 10 hours, following which they informed the forest officials

In a first of its kind incident in Naidupakala village from Andhra Pradesh’s Alluri Sitarama Raju district a leopard was found hanging from a tree with its back part was trapped in a net that was laid to catch monkeys. The State forest department’s special rescue team rushed to the spot to save the leopard from the death trap after receiving information from the locals.

The net in which the leopard got caught was laid to catch monkeys that has been damaging the crops in the farm fields. As per the locals, the leopard was seen hanging from the tree for more than 10 hours, following which they informed the forest officials.

As the news about the trapped leopard spread across, people flocked in large numbers from surrounding places to capture the scene on their mobile phones.

However, the officials cautioned the people to go around the spot in order to avoid any untoward incident during the rescue operation. Efforts to evacuate the already gathered people at the place is currently underway.

“We were informed the condition of the Leopard atop the tree. A special rescue team has been on its way to the spot from Visakhapatnam. We will leave the leopard in the forest once it is saved”, one of the officials said.
