Lokesh Kanagaraj has cemented his place in the Tamil movie industry as an ace director with his exceptional work. He has also been credited as the first South Indian filmmaker to create his cinematic universe called Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), which has already released three successful movies, while others will be released in the forthcoming years. Now, as per the recent buzz, the director will be making a short film to explain the origin of LCU to his fans and audience. Lokesh Kanagaraj was recently highly appreciated for his exceptional movie, Leo, which starred Thalapathy Vijay, Trisha Krishnan, Sanjay Dutt, and Arjun Sarja. He, thereafter, got busy with the making of Kaithi 2 with Karthi. Now, he will reportedly be making his first short movie. These reports were confirmed by actor Narain, who is a prominent face in the Telugu and Tamil industries.
During the promotion of his upcoming Malayalam movie, Queen Elizabeth, at a press conference, Narain spoke up about his collaboration with Lokesh Kanagaraj. He also revealed that he will be working with the director for a really short, 10-minute-long film which will show the origin of the LCU and how it was conceived. A clip from the event was shared on X, (formerly known as Twitter). The caption read, “Narain and Lokesh to do a short film together (10 mins duration) – based on LCU beginning.”

Speaking of Karthi’s sequel, it will capture the backstory of the protagonist. Lokesh Kanagaraj’s next movie in the pipeline will be a spin-off movie on Suriya’s character from Vikram named Rolex, following which, there will be a Vikram 2 — which is said to be the final movie in LCU. All the LCU movies have been quite successful at the box office and were mass entertainers.
