Netanyahu Admits “Difficult Day" After Hamas Ambush on Israeli Troops In Gaza Dubbed "Catastrophe"

Ten Israeli soldiers were killed in Gaza in the worst one-day loss since 15 Israeli soldiers were killed on Oct. 31. At least 9 Israeli soldiers were killed in a Hamas ambush in the neighbourhood of Shujaiyeh in Northern Gaza on December 12. Col. Itzhak Ben Basat is the most senior officer to have been killed in Israel’s ground operation inside Gaza.
