Fans offer their best wishes to superstars of Indian cricket Shreyas Iyer, Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah.

Best wishes are on offer for Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah and Shreyas Iyer– three stalwarts of Indian cricket, who are celebrating their birthdays today, on December 6. It’s a day to relive some golden moments that were produced by these superstars, who have already secured permanent spots in the Indian team across formats. The trio was a crucial component of the Rohit Sharma-led side, which put up a dominant show in the recently concluded ICC ODI World Cup before losing the final to Australia.

Speaking about Jadeja, one memory might remain fresh in the minds of every cricket fan. The Indian all-rounder pulled off a magical finish in the final of the last Indian Premier League (IPL), helping Chennai Super Kings claim their record-equalling fifth title. The MS Dhoni-led side needed 10 runs in the last two balls, with Jadeja being the only hope for the Yellow Army. The Southpaw first whacked a giant six off Gujarat Titans’ Mohit Shamra before hitting a boundary in the final delivery.

During his career spanning over a decade, Jadeja has accumulated 2804 runs and has picked 275 wickets in Tests. The left-arm spinner has also got 220 ODI wickets under his belt. Following former captain Kapil Dev, Jadeja is the second Indian player to record over 2000 runs and more than 150 wickets in both ODIs and Tests.

Meanwhile, Bumrah is a rare breed of pacer who is equally comfortable bowling with the new ball as well as in the death overs. The speedster can showcase his swinging ability during the initial overs, taking full advantage of the fresh surface. But during his final spell, Bumrah will appear in a different version. Despite opting for length deliveries, he will dish out back-to-back toe-crushing yorkers that can trouble any batter in the world.

Bumrah has already established his dominance in all formats of the game. The right-arm pacer has fetched 149 wickets in ODIs, 128 wickets in Tests and 51 wickets in T20Is. He is the first Indian bowler to register five-wicket hauls in Australia, England, South Africa and West Indies in the longest format.

About Shreyas Iyer, the middle-order batter has encountered a lot of turbulence in recent times due to untimely injuries. However, once given an opportunity, Iyer has always come up with something special. He can soak in the pressure when his team demands composure in the middle. But when the situation is in their favour, Iyer can pick up every delivery to demonstrate his big-hitting prowess.

Iyer featured in all 11 games for India in the 2023 ODI World Cup and aggregated a total of 530 runs including two centuries and three fifties. He is the first middle-order batter from India to rack up 500-plus runs during a World Cup campaign.
