Vocal for Local: Ranchi School, Visually-impaired Kids will light up the city on this Diwali

Keeping in view the Central Government's Swachh Diwali, Shubh Diwali campaign, 1000 days were made by the school children of Ranchi who are visually impaired, and not only diyas were made but they were also beautifully painted.

While launching the Central Government’s signature campaign of Swachh Diwali, Shubh Diwali, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that in the past years, a new resolution of the country has also been associated with our festivals. You all know, this is the resolution of ‘Vocal for Local’. The blind children of Ranchi city of Jharkhand are implementing this resolution. These children cannot see this world with their own eyes, but foreign decorative items are nothing compared to their skills. These children, who are truly role models of Vocal for Local, are brightening many homes through their art.

Diwali is just around the corner. In such a situation, the children of Saint Michael Blind School located in Bahu Bazar, Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, are also not behind in showing their art. They are manufacturing attractive lamps. Looking at their skills, it would be difficult to say that the designer lamps have been prepared by blind children.

The connection related to Clean Diwali is very special

Despite the darkness in their own lives, the children who are brightening the lives of others are also giving a special message along with it. No chemical is used in cooking or coloring these lamps are made of clay. It does not cause any harm to the environment. These lamps do not cause any harm to the environment. There is no harm to the environment in manufacturing as well as in disposing of them. In such a situation, these children are not only brightening the lives of others but are also giving the message of saving the environment along with the message of clean Diwali.

School Principal Sarita Salomi said that 120 blind children study in the school. Studies take place here from fifth to tenth class. Along with reading, we also arouse interest in art in children and make them do beautiful paintings. Especially during Diwali, children make beautiful lamps with their own hands. The best thing is that the buyers of these lamps themselves come to school and take the lamps. The income generated from this is spent only on these special children.

Children made 1000 lamps

Principal Sarita also said that 1000 lamps were made by the children and not only lamps were made but they were also beautifully painted. Here children study through Braille script. Through this medium, they have also been taught symbols like Om and Swastika. The children have made symbols of Om, Swastika, and beautiful flowers in the lamp with colorful colors.

A small initiative towards self-reliance

Principal Sarita says that these children are blind, hence our effort is that they should not feel that we cannot do anything and are a burden on society. Rather, they have to be made so independent and self-reliant that wherever they live, they can stand on their own feet and support themselves and their families. Today, people like blind cricketer Sujit Munda have emerged from this school and are leaving their mark at the international level. Besides, many students are working in banks and railways.
