Nadia shared her personal experience after the horrific Kasur incident, where an eight-year-old girl was found raped and murdered.

Veteran Pakistani actress Nadia Jamil has been very vocal about child abuse and has often talked about her own unfortunate experiences to raise awareness. During the MeToo Movement, many women along with top actresses across industries globally revealed their tragic sexual harassment incidents. Its impact was also seen in India and many prominent names were exposed for allegedly harassing women. Nadia Jamil for the first time opened up about the incident on X (formerly known as Twitter) in 2018.

The actress in the tweet wrote, “When I was sexually abused it was by my Kari Sahab, my Driver and then by a highly educated elite family son. Now a happily married businessman in London. It’s across the board. Men abuse across the board. My family still wants me to stay silent. But the shame IS NOT MINE! Never ever (sic).”

Nadia shared her personal experience after the horrific Kasur incident, where an eight-year-old girl was found raped and murdered. Many actors expressed their despair over the matter and called for justice for the terrifying incident.

In 2022, the actress shared a bunch of her happy pictures from childhood and shared that the first time she was abused was at the age of 4 and then 9 and the third time she faced the same at the age of 17 or 18. Nadia also shared that she had to fight with depression for years and now has been healed. “It has taken me years 2 fight deep depression, sadness, fear and a shame I had no business feeling, To be where I am now, Healed. Not just surviving but thriving. There is a way from the pain to peace. You are never alone, Love Nado,” she wrote on the micro-blogging site.

In July 2023, Nadia, on a Pakistani media portal, shared her experience after the Kasur incident. She said that she realised that she must give that incident due importance and thought to share that (sexual abuse) which happened to her – not for her to get attention but to aware the children that it is okay. “let’s live.”

In the interview, she also urged parents to keep a watch on them and notice the behavioural changes. After the interview, Nadia Jamil on X said that it was not an easy interview for her.

Over the years, Nadia Jamil has become more vocal about child abuse and has been encouraging the survivors to understand that it is “not my Shame.”
