Zimmer Biomet, a global medical technology leader with a comprehensive portfolio designed to maximize mobility and improve health, recently launched their largest awareness initiative – Zimmer Biomet on Wheels.
This campaign is the first-of-its-kind in all of Asia Pacific, led by Zimmer Biomet India. The initiative aims to increase awareness for its cutting-edge portfolio and robotics technology, via a uniquely designed mobile vehicle, that houses Zimmer Biomet products & solutions, travelling to the doorsteps of physicians across the length and breadth of the country.
Speaking at the launch event for this campaign Mr. Sang Yi – Group President Asia Pacific said: “This initiative is true to our commitment to our mission which is to alleviate pain and improve the quality of life for patients around the world." He also applauded the India team for conceptualising and executing this campaign seamlessly, from start to finish.
The mobile vehicle houses key technology demonstrations and instruments, that allow surgeons to touch & feel in a zero-risk environment while interacting with the Zimmer Biomet team.
Mr Kaustav Banerjee – Vice President, South Asia, took the opportunity to thank the team behind the initiative and highlighted that this allows the organization to introduce its technology to physicians in a unique way, showcasing a transformative digital journey.
In his address to the audience, Mr Bhuwan Gupta – Group Product Manager, touched upon the details of the awareness initiative. ‘Innovation is part of the company’s DNA, however access to this kind of innovation is rare. A mobile unit significantly reduces the time that surgeons must wait to view our products and solutions. By providing them with hands-on exposure to the latest technology, we will support them to enhance their practice and deliver better patient outcomes.’
Several leadership team members of Zimmer Biomet expressed their elation and excitement about the initiative and what it means for the future of the organization.
Mr. Vishal Maggo, Associate Director – Commercial Operations said, “This is the beginning of a new and exciting journey for us. This will make our products, technologies and solutions visible to more physicians. I wish the team all the very best."
Mr Utsav Khandelwal, Director HR spoke about his pride in being a part of this initiative that was the first of its kind in the Asia Pacific region.
After the address by dignitaries, the Zimmer Biomet on Wheels Vehicle was flagged off by Kaustav Banerjee, Vice President – South Asia as well as the Chief Guest – Actor and Health & Fitness Icon Mandira Bedi.
Speaking to the audience, Mandira shared her belief that health is truly the wealth that matters most, and expressed her excitement at the kind of cutting-edge work she was able to witness as part of the launch event.
As a part of this initiative, the Zimmer Biomet on Wheels vehicle will approximately travel 25,000 km across the length and breadth of the country.
Throughout the journey the Zimmer Biomet sales representatives will continue to conduct live demos for over 1800 Healthcare Professionals and showcase them the future of surgical practice.
The vehicle has successfully travelled across the states of Uttarakhand, J&K, Punjab, Haryana as well as the Delhi NCR region and has engaged with over 140+ Healthcare Professionals.
