Aditya Roy Kapur Fails to Recognise Ananya Panday's Dogs on 'KWK', Internet Raises a Red Flag

The nation’s heartthrob, ‘The Night Manager,’ who had everyone swooning over his charisma, finally graced the latest episode of ‘Koffee With Karan Season 8.’ Aditya Roy Kapur, joined by Arjun Kapoor, added a touch of charm to the eighth episode of Karan Johar’s talk show. However, Aditya’s revelations about his rumoured girlfriend, Ananya Panday, didn’t just stir the expected conversation about their ‘relationship’. The way Aditya navigated through it, whether authentically or not, didn’t quite resonate with the audience. It was a surprise to many that Aditya seemed a bit absent-minded when it came to recognising ‘basic’ details about Ananya’s life.

Whether it was Ananya’s pet dogs, her father’s legendary alter ego ‘Aakhri Pasta,’ or the iconic film ‘DDLJ’ (unrelated to Ananya though), Aditya struggled to identify any, earning an immediate thumbs down on the internet and prompting questions about whether he truly deserved the ‘green flag’ tag.

One user on the micro-blogging site ‘X’ sarcastically began, “What a guy Aditya Roy Kapur,” highlighting Aditya’s lack of basic knowledge about Ananya’s life and quipping, “Overall a green flag if you ask me.” Another user pondered, “Yeah like not gonna judge anyone on what they say on kwk, but how do you not know your girlfriend’s dogs names 1-1.5 (??) years into a relationship. it’s so basic to know that idk (unless this was deliberate to deny the dating rumours).”

Adding a jesting tone, a third user commented, “Aditya has exposed their whole pr relationship in 2 seconds lol” while further adding, “Like be real ??? If my supposed boyfriend of 1-1.5 year still doesn’t know the name of my dogs, the references related to my dad. I will literally never see his face again lol.”

Meanwhile, a fourth user humourously exclaimed, “How is it possible that your boyfriend who you go on so many vacations with doesn’t even know the name of your dog? LOL. Fakeness at its peak.”

As for what transpired at ‘KWK’, during a fun round, an edited picture of Ananya without her dogs was presented, challenging the ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ actor to identify the missing element. While Aditya correctly guessed that the dogs were missing, he faltered when it came to the names of Ananya’s beloved pets. This, however, wasn’t the only moment that left not just KJo and Arjun disappointed but also the viewers.

Towards the end of the episode, after Aditya secured the Koffee hamper, KJo quizzed him, “Are you going to share this with Ananya?” to which Aditya nonchalantly replied, “It depends. Let’s see.” Arjun Kapoor humourously added, “There could be some Aakhri Pasta inside,” making a reference to Ananya’s dad Chunky Panday’s iconic character from ‘Housefull.’ Unaware of Chunky’s character, Aditya responded with a casual, “Maybe, let’s see.”

Arjun instantly sensed his lack of knowledge, looked at Karan, and revealed that Aditya didn’t even know about Aakhri Pasta. KJo then teased Aditya, saying, “You will have Aakhri pasta with Ananya after she sees this episode because you have not done adequate research on her daddy dearest.” In his defense, Aditya stated, “Listen, I didn’t know these main character names. I didn’t know Tuffy!”

But that wasn’t it! The disappointment persisted when Aditya, quizzed by Arjun, couldn’t name Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s characters in ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge,’ sheepishly admitting, “I don’t know.”
