Three-time IPL runners-up Royal Challengers Bangalore have confirmed the players they have retained ahead of the mini-auction next month.
The Faf du Plessis-led RCB have released 11 players prior to the IPL 2024 auction scheduled to be held on December 19 in Dubai.
RCB missed the playoffs by a whisker after finishing fifth on the points table despite terrific batting show from captain Du Plessis and Virat Kohli.
RCB won seven and lost as many matches to finish with 14 points.
Following yet another trophy-less season, RCB made changes in their support staff with coach Sanjay Bangar and Director of Cricket Mike Hesson being let go of.
RCB seem set on finally bringing home the silverware, as a blockbuster overhaul seems to be taking place in Bangalore.
Major names such as the likes of Wanindu Hasaranga, Harshal Patel, Josh Hazlewood have been released by RCB, as the club seems intent on finally breaking their unlucky streak and to push for glory this time around.
RCB have retained their major strike force of skipper Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli who will look forward to put on a swashbuckling show of dominance and lead the team from the frontlines.
They have named Zimbabwe legend Andy Flower as the new coach while Mo Bobat has been named as the new Director of Cricket. Flower was earlier associated with Lucknow Super Giants while Bobat was with the England and Wales Cricket Board for over a decade.
