A group of cinema enthusiasts at Piccadilly Square Mall in Chandigarh Sector 34 were taken aback when they discovered dead cockroaches in their sandwiches. As per a report from The Indian Express, the unsettling incident occurred around 3:30 pm on a Tuesday when the moviegoers purchased sandwiches and a burger for Rs. 550. Oblivious to the contaminated sandwiches during the movie due to the darkness, the patrons were in for a shock.
In a now-deleted video, a man was seen expressing his dissatisfaction to the theatre staff about being served sandwiches tainted with contaminants. He emphasised that had they not noticed during the interval, it could have led to a mishap. After all, imagine attending a movie only to be horrified by the served food, nearly ruining the entire theatre experience – that’s precisely what happened to these individuals.

Reportedly, the theatre employee assured them of registering a complaint with the food vendor. Despite offering a refund, the customers declined, expressing concerns about potential food poisoning. They urged the employee to cease selling these sandwiches and take decisive action against the vendor.
Coincidentally, a recent incident in Hyderabad involved a resident discovering dead cockroaches in biryani ordered through Zomato. Shared on the ‘Hyderabad’ subreddit by the user @maplesyrup_411, the post included images of the unsavory find within their plate of biryani from the Grand Hotel in Koti.
Alongside the images, the user lamented, “I ordered Fish Biryani from Grand Hotel in Koti, through Zomato and looks like the hotel staff were kind enough to give me some extra protein in the form of a dead cockroach. Would never order from here again. 0/10 (unless you’re into eating insects)."
